Ralph's Farm Market

We had a Smoked bone in Ham for Thanksgiving Dinner.We chose Meridian meats as a first time try. Oh my we were so happy with the product. We had grown our own meat in years past. Expected a higher quality compared to commercially produced pork. Well this was so delicious, totally won us over.

I went here the other day. Thought I would support local. Wanted some meat, headed for butcher counter. A young fellow was busily preening his hair, giving it a fluff and having a nice scratch. I said in the most polite possible way “I’m not sure if you are new and haven’t received food safe training but you shouldn’t be playing with your hair when dealing with food, please wash your hands before you handle my food.” He explained to me that it’s ok, they wear gloves. He wore one glove when he picked up my roast but the other hand handled the paper and everything else after running his hands through his hair like he thought he was some kind of male super model. I was not happy to be so dismissed but I carried on. Then, at the cashier I was yelled at by a lady whose attitude towards my confusion to “hey, get in line” in a most aggressive way. It was my first time there (and last). I wasn’t thinking and a more customer service oriented approach would have gone much further. I spoke to Kathleen, a nice person (cashier) who assured me that her managers would speak to the people involved and that I would hear back from the meat manager. It’s been 2 days and I haven’t heard from anyone. Food safety is important to me, so is customer service. You had your chance Ralph’s, I tried. You didn’t get back to me so in my minds eye this was blown off. I will not be returning to your business.

I love going to Ralph's! They have such a nice selection and it feels great to support my local produce market. Sometimes extensive, but the produce is always the freshest

Very nice market, reminiscent of trader Joe's from the United States. They have some unique snacks and even their smoked meats are very good. The new merger between Merridian Meats is welcome too as their options are quite good.

As with most stores the handling of Covid is one thing I look for and if everyone put the same care and attention as they do, we would be well on our way to over this. Staff was cheerful and attentive. The new store, for those who know the old store, is great. Produce, meat and baking where all top notch. They had a great sale on ground beef. It is worth stopping and shopping. The only thing that I would improve would be the driveway, it is not as easy to get out onto Fraser Highway as I would like.
