Had extremely poor service while at this restaurant. Took twenty minutes to get a water and multiple orders were wrong when brought out. Appears as if possible new management took over but definitely do not recommend.

(It is now Los Tikos) Had a little time before our flight and stopped here for lunch and drinks. Both were amazing. Couldn’t have asked for better, friendlier service. Would definitely recommend.

If you have free time in the Juan Santamaria airport area, El Tikos (formerly El Cacique Bar and Restaurant) is a great bet. Super friendly owner. Authentic Costa Rican food and drinks. Short walk from airport hotels.

This is now Tiko’s not El Cacique. We were traveling from Boston to Puerto Jimenez with an accidental layover in San Jose due to a late flight courtesy of Delta and stoped in here for dinner. We had the ceviche, queso fundido con chorizo, y patacones con salsa de carne. All the food was great, and the bartender Alexis was fantastic. Great service and good food and drinks. Very reasonably priced. Friendly to tourists and locals.

A charming homestyle restaurant with delicious food and friendly service! My shuttle dropped me off for a layover at a hub near the airport which consisted of a casino, and some North American chain restaurants and hotels. I did a quick search for some local food and opted for a quick walk down the street to Restaurante A Lo Tico es Más Rico. I ordered the Chifrijo, something I had never had before, and it was fantastic! If I'm ever in this area again, I will definitely be going back.
