We stayed there 3 years ago (2017) and I keep thinking back, so I finally write a review. We loved this seclusive place, with the beautiful Mountainview, the lovely couple, the well arranged breakfast and their cockatoo. We were heading towards El chirripo and said we would send pictures, if we successfully hiked to the top, but we never did send them. So I would definitely recommend to stay there! We will come again, even if my husband himself is a Tico and we have places to stay at.

Out of the way but worth it! Glorious situation in the rain forest, bird life incredible, lovely hosts, breakfast v. good. Although out of town, the hosts drove us there; there's a restaurant nearby the lodge which had good food and well priced. Recommended

We spent 4 very nice nights in this wonderful place. Isolated from the village, in the middle of a lovely garden with flowers and bushes, and in the same time not so far to reach it easily (less than 5 minutes by car). The lodge was cute, nice decoration with an added personal touch. In addition, the advices of the landlord Peter and Marja about the place to go were very helpful and very good (unspoilt and wild beach, places to visit, restaurants, farms, etc.). We definitively had a good rest in this lodge PS: do not hesitate to enjoy the diner proposed by Marja!

It is very delightful to spend a few days with Peter & Marja in Cacatua Lodge and enjoy their hospitality. Perfect view from a lovely garden with lots of birds. Nice and proper cottages with a private terrace, fridge and kettle. Also a good base to explore the Uvita area. Beach, town, supermarket and restaurants tob e reached within 10 minutes.
