Spent a day with Carlos and team Snorkeling at an island off the coast of Costa Rica. We stopped along the way to fish and caught 4 Mahi, we spotted a local whale, and spent some time cruising along with a pod of spotted dolphins. We snorkeled at two spots along the island's coast, visited the ranger station there, and then headed over to Drake Bay for lunch before going home. It was an amazing day filled with several experiences we all really enjoyed. Our guides were knowledgeable about the area, the history and the wildlife. I would recommend looking them up for an excursion you may want to check out while visiting the area.

We went waterfall repelling this week and it was AMAZING! What made our experience even more amazing was our guides, Honore and Wagner, his brother. They are very safety conscientious and made sure we were well prepared for the day. Honore speaks English very well. He has many years of experience repelling the waterfalls of Costa Rica. He also has such a great personality. He and his brother made our experience so fun! They are so funny! But serious about safety. Along the way, they pointed out different trees, flora, and wildlife. They start off with a small waterfall to get you comfortable, then on to 5 more with the last one about 50ft high! They are experienced with all fitness and age levels. The icing on the cake was a personal request...we had been in Uvita for about 4 days and I really wanted to see a sloth but, despite staying in the jungle we had not. After the repelling, Honore jumped on his motorcycle and went down the road for about 5 minutes....when he returned, he said, follow me. He took us down the street near the beach and pointed out 2 sloths way high up in the tree!!! We would have NEVER spotted them ourselves. I was so excited and so grateful ! Also, halfway into our adventure, we stopped at a spot at the bottom of a waterfall and we had a quick snack of empanadas and hot chocolate. Just what we needed to re-fuel and finish the day. You guys really made our day so wonderful ....we will be talking about this adventure for years to come! Gracias mucho !! Pura Vida !
