Municipality of Garabito

American citizen trying to do business in Jaco. I have been assaulted 3 times in the course of business, have had over $2000 stolen from me from locals. All the municipal does istry and collect taxes and fees from property and business owners and provides little to know services. No police protection, no reasonable medical emergency services, trash everywhere, human faces on sidewalk backing up from drains, psychotic mental patients continually harassing people on street, no apparent mental health system. Maybe ok to visit for a short time but a horrible place to live. The men shown are government workers who assaulted and injured me immediately after this picture was taken. Outwardly I like this property, it looks tidy and well maintained. I only had to go once to consult on a subject, but I was well attended. No complaints.
