Walking distance from the Holiday inn express close to the airport, stopped in to have a beer. I did not eat the food but I saw other people's plates and it looked really good.

If you have free time in the Juan Santamaria airport area, El Tikos (formerly El Cacique Bar and Restaurant) is a great bet. Super friendly owner. Authentic Costa Rican food and drinks. Short walk from airport hotels.
