Don't buy anything electronics in any Walmart in Costa Rica. Bought an Oster microwave, only lasted 2 weeks, dead unit after 2 weeks! Store warranty of 30 days. Took it to the store thinking I'll get a replacement, but no cigar even after talking to the store manager. It's a store policy to send the unit for diagnosis and repair which would take 2-3 weeks. Support your local stores not multinational ones they don't care about the consumer. Walmart in Liberia.

The five star rating is only applicable in the context of similar stores available in or around Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This is a very good choice for U.S. citizens looking for a Walmart in the area of Liberia. It is very small and the inventory extremely limited. You won't find Mt. Dew of any flavor, any brand toothpaste with stannous fluoride, Motrin, a can of Spaghetti Os, frozen dinner entrees of any kind, a 12 volt cigarette lighter socket Y splitter, Men's or Women's shorts (or any clothes for men or women except maternity tops and bottoms), any protein powder or drinks e.g. Muscle Milk, Core Power, etc. But you will find fresh milk, white bread, sliced cheddar cheese, sliced ham, mayo (but not Miracle Whip), occasionally you'll see boxes of a half-dozen raised donuts that are surprisingly exactly like the raised donuts in the States. You'll be able to get exactly the same Walmart brand bottled water, as in the states, better ice than you'll get at any of the local Walmarts where I live in the States--and the ice cooler is always stocked (unlike my local Walmarts). The restrooms are always clean (exceeding the cleanliness of some state-side Walmarts) and the staff is very polite, helpful and forgiving of those who can't do Spanish. Like all stores in the area, the prices are very high which means Walmart is not to blame. And the prices are only high compared to stateside Walmarts in non-lefty places. (The prices in stores like Walmart are very comparable to those of Manhattan, NY or Beverly Hills, CA each of which I have visited recently.)

Really good selection of housewares and a lot of good stuff in the grocery. Not like US walmart prices but resonable
