El Prado

El Prado is under new management, and it is now called; ¨Donde Helen¨. The owners Paolo and Helen are wonderful people, their food is cooked Tico style (Costa Rican ) and Chinese style. Every wednesday and thursday they have beer promotions at 800. colones a beer, (1.62 US) and any other days it is 900. colones, (1.92 US). Donde Helen is a place to be for a great atmosphere, to enjoy a meal, or sitting at the bar having a cold beer and chatting with their bartender Vernon, who is people friendly. Their waiter, Alcides who serves at the tables, a friendly man, always greeting customers with respect and kindness. They also have Casino machines to play. On every thursday, friday, saturday and sunday it is Karaoke nights, you have your regulars who comes and sings their favorite spanish or english songs, I am one of them, I sing my favorite english songs. Theres always new people, from ticos to foreigners come from all walks of life and countries to sing or just listens to talented or less talented singers. Their DJ has various songs to choose from in spanish and english, and sometimes sings himself, and has a wonderful voice. So all that said, it is my favorite place to go to and enjoy myself and I feel part of their family. So please, when in Turrialba come and spend time at Donde Helen, when asking for direction, you can ask where is Donde Helen, most people who knows El Prado, will know where is Donde Helen.
