for as many potential things that can go wrong and for as many negative things I could say, Box Correos has come through for me more times than not. At the beginning of the Pandemic, obviously there were times when it seemed like no one was doing anything. Then they decided to overhaul their website , which was a general improvement but somethings are left to the imagination as to what or why they did what they did. For instance, somehow, " failure to deliver" means it has arrived at the destination. It is true that no one EVER answers the phone. Never, never, ever expect them to answer the phone. They will however reply to email. That person however is only one who seems to pass your inquiry along to someone who may as well be in India because at that point there is sufficient buffer for none of them to respond or care or act. All this becomes apparent when something goes wrong. The worst incident for me continues to date. Taking personal responsibility I must say it stemmed from not adding my Casillero number to the shipping address of one of my purchases. Hopefully today they will finally send me a vital piece of equipment I ordered in Nov. It's been a 3 1/2 month quest. Make sure you are meticulous in your ordering information. The system does work. Problems do happen. If that happens, don't give up, be persistent. Never buy anything like supplements or beauty products. It will go to customs holding and you will spend countless hours and three to four times what the purchase price was trying to get it. Better to find a friend coming to visit and send it to them.

This is an example of what a company shouldnt do. They are trully nonprofesional company. They have closed the office in a working day without informing anything in the webside neither google information.

Horrible experience. They sent me to the health department for cat treats included in a package. They would not even clear the rest of my items and seized them. I drove to the health department in Downtown San Jose and they refused to help me. They stated I would have to write an essay on the ingredients in the cat treats, then take it to Senasa to have it validated, then back to the health department where they may or may not issue a permit. Then take the permit back to Correos Zapota so they could charge for each package. Customs refused to clear my other items that were NOT RESTRICTED. This is disgusting. Will be looking for those seized items for sale on web sites.

Had to go pick up packages here several times over the last years, and always a bad experience. First of all they always open my packages, the people who works opening packages are always acting suspicious and i feel like a criminal every time. They also always tell me that i need a custom agent, even if my packages are under the tariff, wich sets me back around 2-300 dollars...so stear away if u can.

I was expecting a package which carried my cell phone (which I had lost in Puerto Viejo) the day before I was set to fly out of Costa Rica back home. It did not arrive that day, so the next day right when they opened I called, I spoke to a lady named Magali (I hope that's right) I told her my situation, she asked for the tracking number, and she noticed that the package was set to go back to PV for some strange reason. She told me she would find out more information and call me back to my hotel (in San Jose) in 30 minutes. I thought to myself (probably not going to hear back) less than 30 minutes passed, and its her! Magali!! She got a hold of someone, and my package was going to be delivered back straight to me at 10am! 10am came around and sure enough, like an angel he appeared with my package!. two hours before my check out time, before I headed to the airport, I had my cell phone again and avoided a bigger hassle and issue!!! I got amazing service from them!
