The old house has been well reconstructed, and it's charming, but there's no information in English, and unless you're a fan of the author, this place may give you little.

An important monument of folk architecture declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The timbered building was built in the 1990s by Jakub Jirásek. On August 23, 1851, his grandson, the later writer Alois Jirásek, was born here.

The house and its exposition pleasantly surprised me. But what excited me was the attitude and willingness of the lady who sold us the tickets. She is a well of knowledge about all the famous natives of Hronov and it can be seen that she likes her job. The lady and I talked very nicely and she deserves our thanks.

This cottage on the main road through the town of Hronov did not bother me with anything special, except to know in what modesty and misery people once lived. Right near Jirásek's birthplace is a landscaped park with public (and clean (!)) Toilets (Slovaks, let's learn!).
