Great old machines and employee explanation. Necessity to order in advance. An excellent hour, even older children enjoy it.

In the former textile factory in Velké Hamry in Jablonec, a museum of renewable energy sources was established. Visitors can look directly at the functional machines, how the hydropower plant or solar panels work. The museum will introduce you to the power and use of water, wind, sun and biomass. But you can also read about the inventors of turbines, the emergence of light bulbs and other attractions closely related to usable energy sources. The Velké Hamry Hydroelectric Power Station has been operating for one hundred and ten years. It is thus the oldest functioning power plant in the Czech Republic. The equipment of the former Liebig's textile factory is original. They have been honestly serving here since 1907. Employees make their own repairs with possible repairs. The dominant feature of the museum in Mezivodi is still a functional Francis spiral boiler turbine, which produces ecologically clean energy with the help of water from a nearby stream. Turbines with a total output of 350 kilowatts are turning the water from the Kamenice stream. Originally powered by textile machines in the factory, today they supply electricity to the grid. You will see the original hydroelectric power station wall, get acquainted with other types of water turbines. They offer a unique insight into their guts. In addition to the monumental turbine, the exhibition also includes other notable attractions. For example, a reduced water wheel, a full wall of clocks, alarms, and indicators that served in old water power plants. Almost authentic biogas plant felled from imitation excrements and a plethora of different turbines and parts, such as Kaplan, Banki and Francis. Here you can try your own energy production by pedaling your bike. The museum is dominated by a large model of power plant windmill, there is also demonstrated the need for the operation of photovoltaic panels or you can see different types of bulbs and lots more.

Closed for technical reasons this winter. However, I'd like to go there.

Perfect, technical things to touch with great interpretation.
