The large, beautiful 55-meter-high church was built in 1901-1902 by the German architect Max Loewe. It was originally used by the German-speaking Protestant community of the German Evangelical Church, and after the Second World War, the church passed to Czech Protestants. In 1959, the building was transferred to the university library, and now it houses the archives of the Scientific Library.

Beautiful church outside. Inside the book store (I had a chance to peek). I am looking forward, after the reconstruction should serve as a cultural center of the library.
