The burgher houses on the picturesque square and in the adjacent streets bear traces of magnificent late Gothic construction from the early 16th century in the form of stone linings and portals and especially the remains of painted niches in attic gables above the originally one-storey houses. The early Renaissance left its testimony on the typical arched gables of houses, then rebuilt into two-storey ones, as well as in the remains of paintings on several house facades and especially in numerous terracotta walls. However, most of the houses received exterior decorations during the Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, Empire and later.
