The builder of the Peat Spa was the spa doctor dr. Paul Cartellieri. The project was developed by the Franciscan builder Karel Wiedermann. The spa was opened in 1864 and expanded five years later. To ensure a sufficient amount of mineral water for bathing, Cartellieri bought land at the Slatinný brook and captured two springs - Železitý and Cartellieri. Today, these spas primarily prepare mud baths. The building next to the spa is a mechanized dump where peat is prepared for bathing.
