Lots of interesting information (unfortunately in Czech only). Great nostalgia for me (40+ person). If you like trains and understand Czech language you will love it.

Excellent! The exhibition installed in the main building is describing the local railway developments and multiple lingos are available. The guided tour through the reconstructed engine depo is quite touching, with a few technical highlights - such as the Swiss carriages used for Jungfrau track till 1988. The tour is available only in Czech, the guide is a selfmademan, and his narrative is very explanatory and interesting.

- in addition to other attractions, you can visit the Museum of the Cog Railway in Kořenov, which was built on the section of the railway line from Desná right here to Kořenov. - on this section, the sets must overcome a height difference of 250 m in the length of 7 km, which is more than enough for common - therefore it was equipped with an Abt cog system in this section - previously the traffic on this line, leading from the Polish Jelenia Gora via Szklarska Poreba to our territory was much more intense - coal was brought here, wood and paper back - The SH crosses the track in Jakuszyce and continues through Harrachov to Kořenov - the section from Jelenia Góra to Kořenov was previously electrified (I still remember the el traction pylons) - a steam locomotive with the nickname "coffee grinder" was used as the first locomotive on the established rack section - later the steam was replaced by a diesel-hydraulic locomotive from the workshop of the Austrian Floridsdorf and then by our modified motor car M 240, but only for passenger transport - In recent years, modern Stadler passenger cars have been operated here, but they no longer use racks - you can see the mentioned technique in the museum in the Kořenov railway station - this system was the only one in the Czech Republic - do not miss this opportunity and visit the museum

Photos, descriptions, several models and period exhibits, small snacks, souvenirs. The newly renovated heating plant was already a different coffee. Possibility to personally climb several locomotives, motorbikes and wagons. Everything supported by an interesting interpretation. And the possibility to turn on a hand-powered turntable before the heating plant. The perfect experience for rail enthusiasts! I recommend.
