Church of the Passion of St. John the Baptist is one of the oldest buildings in Semily. It was built in 1727 on the site of a wooden church, which burned down during the great fire of the town in 1691. However, the foundation stone was laid in 1723. At the southern wall of the church is the Statue of St. Jan Nepomucký from 1756 from the workshop of sculptor A. Sucharda. However, this statue originally stood on today's Rieger Square, it was relocated in 1920. Church of St. John the Baptist´s martyrdom is one of the oldest buildings in Semily. Small church with modest decoration. When you think about the graves around, it's a beautiful place with a charming view.

Beautifully situated above the town of Semily, the Baroque church is a protected cultural monument and is surrounded by a cemetery with a beautiful view of the countryside. One of the oldest buildings in Semily was originally wooden. In 1727 a new building was consecrated.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is probably the oldest preserved building in Semily. It was built in the sixteenth century on the site of an original wooden fortress. Equipment is Baroque, the vault of the presbytery is decorated with a fresco by Prague painter Antonín František Hampisch from 1735. Attention, the church is open only during masses and concerts.
