Jizera Gorge at the southeastern end of the Jizera Valley Nature Reserve. Cadastral area: Bítouchov u Semil (Liberec region) Altitude: 310 - 385 m Area: 5.54 ha Published: 1990 Rocky gorge of the Jizera with the occurrence of rock plants. Geology The Jizera pod Bítouchovem intersects a smaller massif of cataclastic albitic granite and creates a gorge with rock walls and pillars up to 40 m high. In the last century, the gorge was artificially widened, below the lower edge is a weir with an underground drainage of water to the Podspálov hydroelectric power plant. The slopes are formed by rocky outcrops, in the places around these outcrops there is an acidic variety of cambium-typical, along the Jizera it was formed on alluvial alluvium by fluvial typical. Flora The most well-known plant species of the gorge is Saxifraga rosacea subsp. Steinmannii, and typical rock species grow here: red spleenwort (Asplenium trichomanes), green spleenwort (Asplenium viride), common sweetener (Polypodium vulgare), fescue fescue (Fest aj.
