Přírodní památka Chrastický hadec

A beautiful place, hidden in the forest. A dirt road leads here too. You can hold on the edge and run the last few meters. There is no parking. A place where time seems to stand still. Pure nature. The trees, the stones, the water, the birds. It's just beautiful there.

Chrastically the serpent was in a romantic country. Today, part of the quarry is flooded, but pieces of serpentine can be found in the surrounding area.

It's nice here. Peace, nature, beautiful views of the Jeseníky Mountains.

Mysterious and cool place ...

Chrastice serpentine is a natural monument ev. No. 1943 near the village Staré Město in the Šumperk district. The area is managed by the Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic. The reason for the protection is a regionally valuable refuge of endangered plant communities that developed on a serpentine outcrop. It was pushed to the Earth's surface as a deep igneous eruption. Critically endangered spleen fern grows here.
