I am satisfied with the town hall
Vladimir Pecha (05/29/2018)
The massive two-storey building of the Kdyně town hall stands on the square next to the Border Museum. In 1781, the entire south side of the square burned down with it. The town hall built after the fire consisted of a brick ground floor and a wooden floor. In 1850, the councilors decided to demolish this building, bought the neighboring house No. 2 and built a new town hall on the connected plots. This large building was completed in 1852 and because it was austere, it was enriched in 1871 with a metal turret with a clockwork. The last modifications in 2000 gave the town hall a completely new exterior facade. Next to the town hall is the gate of the old spinning mill decorated with a statue of a reclining lion, in the area of the former spinning mill some old factory buildings are still preserved. The massive two-storey building of the Day Town Hall stands in the main square just next to the Borderland Museum. In 1781, the whole southern side of the square and the city burned. After the fire the newly built town hall consisted of a brick ground floor and a wooden floor. In 1850 the councilors decided to demolish this building, bought the neighboring house No. 2 and built a new town hall on the connected parcels. This large building was completed in 1852 and, because it was too austere, was enriched in 1871 by a tin-turret with a clock machine. The last modifications in 2000 gave the town hall a brand new exterior facade. At the town hall there is a gate of an old spinning mill (today´s museum) decorated with a statue of a lion, and some old factory buildings are preserved in the former spinner.
