Marked parking spaces are very narrow, probably from the days of housewives and trabants. There is a shortage of parking spaces, so clients and employees of the office park in the surrounding streets. From there, they squeeze out residents who pay blatantly high prices for parking permits and circle around the square like vultures in the evening looking for the last vacancy.
