The northeastern tip of the Bohemian Karst extends into Prague and is one of the most beautiful natural sceneries in the land register of the capital city. The area consists of deep cut valleys, which for thousands of years have been digging Dalejský and Prokopský streams and once were flooded with shallow and warm sea - it was very favorable for life. The main rock of the whole area are the limestone of Silurian and Devonian, 430 - 380 million years ago. The oldest human footprints in the Prokop Valley date back to about 30,000 years ago, when the caves were sought-after shelters by Palaeolithic hunters. It is almost unbelievable that without leaving Prague, you will take an amazing trip in time and space, the foundations of which were established half a billion years ago. You get your breath away ... The northeastern tip of Bohemian Karst extends into Prague and forms one of the most beautiful sceneries of the town.
