A big surprise from the footpaths between the ponds.

Beautiful piece of earth. If somebody with your eyes closed suddenly dropped you on the former lands of Reiser's brickworks, you wouldn't even think that there were housing estates and Prague metro stations near you. The brick factory was founded in 1897 and served mainly the needs of buildings in Prague and its surroundings. After the mining of clay in the western part of the territory was completed, a public swimming pool was built on one of the water areas in the 1930s. Mining continued in the northern and eastern parts until the 1960s. In the 1980s the space was mainly used as a landfill for construction waste. In 2014, work began on a gradual revitalization of the area, meadows were established on the site of landfills and all non-native tree species disappeared. There was a new local orchard or a new oak forest. It is great for the locals to care about the nature around them, especially when they are surrounded by busy driveways to the capital.
