The history of Dolní Počernice dates back to prehistoric times, when settlements of people from the Řivnáč and later Únětice culture were established here, which were then covered by a Roman settlement. The first Slavic dwellings were built near important land routes converging to the ford across Rokytka. It was named around the second half of the 12th century - it is derived from its owner called Počerný. During this period, a feudal mansion with a Romanesque church was built (today's chateau complex). In the following centuries the estate gradually expanded. Dolní Počernice came into its present form in the 1920s and 1930s.
