The Libeň Cemetery in Na Korábě Street has an area of 1.69 hectares and there are over 10,000 buried in more than 160 tombs, 2,400 graves and approximately 350 urn graves. The new cemetery in Liben was opened and consecrated on November 5, 1882, and burial began there that day. The old cemetery for Prosek, Střížkov, Libeň and Vysočany ceased to have sufficient capacity and in the years 1872 - 1873 it was already overcrowded. Over time, the new Libeň cemetery was expanded by another part, consecrated on March 12, 1886. After the First World War, a third cemetery was established here, and during 1946, urn graves were established. For example, the poet Karel Hlaváček, General Karel Janoušek or pilot Eduard Šimek are buried here.
