The Globe Bookstore And Café

I fell in love with this bookstore the moment I set foot inside. All the shelves and tables and chairs and nooks stacked with colorful English books were exactly what I was looking for. The loft made it that much more attractive and I spent over an hour browsing around. I ended up buying one of their awesome branded cloth bags and several books, some of which were recommended by the staff (there's a special section with their recommendations in the corner, look for it!). The girl at the counter was super sweet and helpful and quickly showed me where to find the titles I wanted. When I visited, the cafe area wasn't working, but I was perfectly happy with my book haul! 😷 Masks are required inside and there is a disinfectant at the door. ♿ The aisles are narrow and the steps make The Globe inaccessible for wheelchair users. Definitely recommend to book lovers!

I visited a while ago and it was amazing! The cafe had very delicious meals and the bookstore was so cute!! Loved the service there!

I visited Prague back in 1995 for five weeks. The Globe was one of my favorite places to visit. I purchased a large ceramic mug back then and have managed to keep it all this time. This morning I went to make a cup of coffee and all my mugs were dirty so I pulled out my Globe mug. Had me reminiscing over my time in Prague. A quick google search brought me here and I am thrilled to see The Globe is still operating and that others have enjoyed it just as much as I did. When this pandemic is over I plan to return to Prague and walk some of my old paths and visiting The Globe will definitely be on my list. :)

Really interesting concept. This bar includes a bookshop, tables outside in the back patio. They serve simple, but delicious food such as hamburgers, nachos, salads, soups and desserts. It has the ground and a first floor, lots of space, friendly and professional staff. They have quiz nights, they are really fun and played in english, It's filled with expats and Czechs alike. Just make sure to make a reservation for the quiz nights, as the seats inside are reserved exclusively for players.

A wonderful expat bar for travelers. The best thing is that it's not an expat bar for Americans, or Brits, or Germans, but everyone. So, you don't feel guilty about not engaging in local culture, because you're still not retreating into your own culture. All of the staff are friendly, and students from the international film school nearby frequent the establishment. So, if you want to have interesting conversation with people from all over, this is your place.
