Ferdinand Puchnar

OK... Here we go.... We used Ferdinand Puchnar for a few years. I always suspected he was "doing only enough" and was not fully solving the problems or doing a complete service but now I have real evidence. We took our car to him numerous times for basic servicing. Our VW Touran had some major problems, and required a new cylinder head. After taking it to Puchnar 3 times - THREE TIMES! And each time he somehow either got sick, had a sick colleague, or simply FORGOT to examine the car. Finally we gave up and took our car to another mechanic. Not only did the car require a new cylinder head, but it had lots of other problems. One problem was that the oil filter was completely messed up - such an oil filter could not have been that way after only one year. It's obvious that last time we got our oil changed, Puchnar did not change the oil filter. This is nearly fraudulent in terms of bad service - when you change the oil, you change the filter, and it's pretty clear that he did not do even that. So, from a perspective of getting the job done - this guy is outrageously horrible - I give him zero stars. He literally kept our car for a total of 4 weeks without doing the job. From a perspective of doing a bad job even when it's simple - he gets zero stars. Some people are moral, ethical people who do a good job, even if you won't be able to tell the difference. Some people do the absolute minimum they can get away with and still get paid. Puchnar is the second type. Stay away.
