Bad faith negotiations. Arbitrary decision reversals. A wholly untrustworthy organization.
First off, the management of the school is incredibly unprofessionally run, Although the concept of Montessori is wonderful and good for a children's way of learning, I have to say that the execution of the Montessori concept in this private school is very disappointing and unsatisfactory. In the spring of 2015, two sets of parents immediately transferred their children in the middle of the year to another school because they realized the management was so untrustworthy and were appallingly unable to fulfill their child's needs. Furthermore, at least three people at the school that I have transferred to informed me they quit working at Duhovka because of the blatant mismanagement and their unprofessionalism that they experienced, witnessed and were not able to withstand. There have also been many other people over the years have quit working there because of the same reasons. There is a high employment turnover rate of teachers mid semester which would means inconsistencies and irregularities in your child's education. They have not been able to keep many teachers for very long. Hardly anybody wants to stay there because the management is very unfair and many are incredibly unsure if the child's education is a priority for them or if it just about the money, appearances and reputation. Within just a couple of years, at least 5 employees have quit because they felt that the management did not care about the employees or children. This leads to a high inconsistency of teachers that are genuinely trained in Montessori as well as a severe lack of experienced teachers. Everybody, the parents, children, and staff, call the director of the school "Teflon" because of his inability to listen and to respond to anybody's requests of needs. I hope that you reconsider applying to this school or working at this school. If you are considering the school for your children or have any questions about more details about the way that this school is run, please do not hesitate to contact me through private message on facebook. I have plenty of documentation and evidence I can provide for you to show you that this is probably not a school that you would want to be a part of. Good luck finding a school for your child! Believe me, there are plenty other great international schools in Prague and in the Prague area with much better management and honesty.
The granddaughter goes to this school, I had the opportunity to see the approach of the teachers and, contrary to our habits, it is very much on a level. I am glad that new projects like this are being created. I keep my fingers crossed that the zeal will last them.
Thanks to Duhovce, we have two old schoolgirls at home. I love the school without exaggeration and I like it.
Nas as a parent know that the school in the detectives will not kill their natural desire to learn. He does not take away the sheep that are praying for the award, but self-conscious beings with their own opinion and ability to critically think. Children enjoy respect for their surroundings and for themselves. You learn to see the world in context. No one puts them under pressure and time, so they can learn, without unnecessary stress, what is needed at a time when they are natural. We believe that thanks to this approach you will acquire the knowledge in your head really.
In Duhovka our children are blooming. The school has maximum access to communication with the parent, actively creating conditions (functional parenting association, access to teaching, meetings with teachers as needed, possibility of consulting with psychologists in case of problems). Employees are competent and mil. Only teachers with the best experience on both the professional and the human side have the teachers.
Death is also fun in druzine and parent does not have to have whims when it sometimes stays in the school dele, because there is just good bavi ...
We are honest that we did not underestimate the school. The iris is standing behind every school crown. They are well-invested money.
We went to the Duhovka (Cihelná) kindergarten, which we remember thanks to the people who worked in it. It was amazing, the approach to children fantastic and individual approach. Today, none of those people work there anymore. Subsequently, the transition to primary school Duhovka, which is a hard change. The worst thing about this school is leadership itself. The approach and overall system is different from what they have in kindergartens. Some teachers are really terrible and miserable (screaming, not interested, not communicating with their parents, very little work with children ...). Today, after all the experience, I would not choose this school. For the money, there are other options where you and the child will feel better.
Positives: Food
Frequent stay outside
Possibilities of activities in the group (quality is not the same as before, as many people left, but still offers many opportunities for children.
Negative: Approach and problem solving
The very concept of the school is not unified among employees
You have to be lucky with the teacher
If you are a Czech family, your child will not learn English here
The management itself
Children are not led, as in kindergarten.
Much looser approach
I would not choose this school anymore because I work here very independently for the children. Very little teamwork, work and understanding of the text is minimal. Very little individual work with a child, he has to help himself mostly by himself. Lots of conflicts between children, almost every year, bullying is resolved in a classroom.
Great disappointment for us and we are moving elsewhere after a few years. I can't recommend with a clear conscience!
