Beautiful Romanesque rotunda of St. Mary Magdalene, built of golden marl during the first half of the 12th century, is the most important historical building in the village, although not much of the original Romanesque block masonry has survived to this day. The material for the construction was probably mined in a nearby marl quarry, which is an important local geological locality and a natural monument. Originally, the parish church was built as a Romanesque headquarters with a cylindrical nave with a diameter of 5.3 meters, a horseshoe-shaped apse and a prismatic tower with minimum internal dimensions of 1.9 x 1.7 meters. The rotunda has been intensively buried since the High Middle Ages, and even today a small cemetery surrounded by a wall stretches around the church. The cemetery includes the chapel of St. Marta and St. Ludmila from 1712, opposite is a wooden bell tower from 1935. The oldest preserved grave is from 1882. The current appearance of the church is the result of modern alterations. In 1779, the vault of the church collapsed and an extensive renovation began, to which the retired Austrian emperor and Czech king Ferdinand Dobrotivý also made a significant contribution. It was this reconstruction carried out between 1852 and 1859 by the builder Karel Wiesenfeld that significantly affected the appearance of the church. The current interior of the church is neo-Gothic. The most important monument of the interior of the church is a unique early Gothic sandstone baptistery with the letters "M A R X", interpreted as MARIA - CHRIST. Beautifully reconstructed and mainly maintained church. Relatively recent reconstruction has been very successful. Excursions around are great. It is just a short drive from the airport or the European street, and it is the first walk from the Wild Šárka.
