Kostel svatého Jiří

Beautiful single nave baroque church with semicircular presbytery and tower on the north side was created in the 17th century by the reconstruction of an older Gothic church. It is located on a small hill in the eastern part of the village, a few minutes' walk from the train. station. The first mention of it is already in the charter of Brevnov monastery. The first direct reports come from 1352. The eastern part of the church is a remnant of a Romanesque building, the altar is baroque, with a painting of St. George, killing the sleigh. In the 17th century, almost the entire church was rebuilt in the Baroque style. During the 1990s. the church was repaired to celebrate the millennium of the village. He got a new facade, repaired the roof and dome. The church belongs to Zbraslav parish and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Around it you will find impressive tombstones of the old cemetery, an octagonal baroque morgue is in close proximity.
