Homemade cakes - delicious

A cake shop since 1956... Coffee, trees, and lots of cakes. Apparently largely unchanged since it opened. No English spoken. Right across the street from the National Gallery. From another age... The original owner's diploma noting his graduation from culinary school in 1937 hangs on the wall. More awards from the 40s and 50s hang on the walls. There's something vaguely Soviet bloc AND Habsburg about this place. Definitely worth crossing the street from the gallery. Cheap and sweet and d'autrefois.

The best pie. My most favourite place to have a pie in Prague, such an amazing tasty fruits pies, even better than from grandma ☺︎ every single day serves selection of strawberies, blueberries, raspberries, poppy, rhubarb, black currant, red currant, raspberries, apricot, cherry, or plums pie fully covered by sweetie crispy crumbs, It is worth noting also to have their huge cupcakes, apfelstrudel or other amazing roly-poly or Christmas or cheese cakes. Alltogether with inherently belonging and very authentic cz80's interieur style and sweet staff....

I'm not a sweet expert. I can only subjectively say that I like the local desserts. Whether or not they are good is a noise for me. I like them. I understand that someone may mind the retro environment, but for me it's a nice bonus. I think there are quite a few confectioneries in Prague. I am used to such a confectionery from childhood and that is why I am happy to return here.
