Plešné Lake

Approaching the lake from the top of the hill is best when you take the detour via Adalbert Stifter memorial. The beautiful outlooks to the souther parts of Sumava, including the dam of Lipno, stone sea, sthe steeps slopes falling into the waters of the lake - ideally with melting snows of the spring - yes, Ican understand why the old Adalbert loved the place...

Just love this place

Wonderful place, wonderful lake. We were lucky to always arrive at a time when there were a minimum of visitors - in the rain or in winter. So beauty. I definitely recommend the visit.

On the way up you will enjoy beautiful nature, peace and solitude, of course you will meet tourists, in winter and cross-country skiers. We parked in Nová Pec, where there is a paid parking lot, 80 CZK for 5 hours and 100 CZK for the whole day. It is about 5 km to the Flat Lake. We took it along the bike path, which I do not recommend in winter, the road is not maintained and is 6.5 km longer. The flat lake is beautiful, the scene reminded me of the entrance to Farthen-Dür (the city of dwarves from Eragon). Again, there are beautiful views from the mountain to the surroundings.

A nice place where you can relax before climbing Plechý to the adventure path across the Stone Sea
