Café Blatouch

Absolutely outstanding!

Whoever spent the nineties in Blatouch in Vězeňská Street in the Old Town, like me, must rejoice. Since spring 2020 we have a summer buttercup. Extremely pleasant place with excellent coffee (without hipster signs "today at the grinder ..."), wine and ... books. When you can, it's definitely worth a visit. Especially in the coming cold months, it's really cozy inside.

The legendary café Blatouch in Letná? Yes it's right! In the tough competition between Vegtrál, Lost Paradise and, for example, Tvaroh (Café Lajka is a little further) ... however, Café Blatouch is a well-known brand and a direct concept. Already in the 1990s, she reigned all the bohemian evenings in Vězeňská (Josefov), then moved to the American (Vinohrady) at the beginning of the century - and is now expanding her work in Šmeralov. Apart, modest, small, but very charming variant of the cafe in the new, will enchant not only nostalgics. From the dress-code of beautiful girls (always in black as from Coco Chanel), through the interior of Art Nouveau wallpapers ... to Hopper's paintings ... Well, a brand of charm and the right genre (BC-BG). Esprit in the spirit of old Paris (chez Marcel?). A novelty on the Blatouch pin is the Varnsdorf Cat! The green armchairs as the basic tone of Buttercup have the power of absinthe ... The view is charming and unobstructed. I had a hot Quiche with spinach (due to color) and had no mistake (Cat was 2x). Now all that remains is to find a few of those few bugs in the haystack, but I haven't found them yet ... Open from 12 noon to 10 pm. Deliberately: in what image is the alter ego of the inventive owner?

Very nice, beautiful cafe. Great coffee and dessert and a very nice lady! I will definitely come again :-)
