The mound of Homole, on which the church stands, was artificially designed. The reason is unknown - Prince Soběslav buried the comrade Hellich or the enemy Hellich was buried alive here or the serfs buried the cruel lord ... It is said that when you top three times in the night with concealed breath and then put your ear, you hear the horse groaning which is buried beneath it.

Great Baroque architecture is often attributed to K. I. Dienzenhofer. It is not documented, but the beautiful morphology is characteristic, but it could only be an inspiration for the builder V. Špáček from Prague. The church was built by Grand Duchess A. M. Tuscany, the owner of the neighboring castle and was completed in 1747. Its emblem is on the facade - see photo.

Baroque Church of the Baptism of St. John the Baptist in Rudná was built in 1747 on the site of an old Gothic church from 1352.
