The first written mention of the village from 1236 can be found in a legal document, written in medieval Latin, in which King Wenceslas I renounces the recovery of benefits and dedicates the estate (villa Lubeznic) to the Prague Chapter. One of the side trade routes ran across the village, turning off from the trail leading to the Litoměřice region, passing through Pakoměřice, resulting in Líbezníky and continuing northwards to the Mělník area. The village was and is the center of the vicinity thanks to its location and facilities. Today there live about three thousand inhabitants.
