'There is a new shelter but smaller and not properly covered, so when it's raining, you'll just soothe it. The previous shed was better, and it was better to hide under the weather before it was better
Jitka Kunická (09/02/2018)
The Klánovice forest in its current form was probably planted after the Thirty Years' War on the site of villages burned by Swedish troops. The largest extinct settlement, which administratively belonged to the Jiren fortress, was called Žák. The last mention of this settlement is from 1615, when Tomáš of Proseč and Jirna "admitted 26 people of subjects in Jirny and Žák". Remains of stone-built wells and dams of former ponds have been preserved in the places of the former village to this day. Klánovice (German Klanowitz) was founded by Václav Klán, originally a clerk of the court in Zbraslav and later a real estate agent. He bought the land for the construction of the village from the Prince of Liechtenstein and from the court in Jirny in 1874. On March 22, 1878, he received permission from the Czech governor's office to establish the settlement of Klánovice In the 1920s and 1940s, Klánovice was an important center of rest for Prague's cream. In addition to the Klánovice Spa from 1926, a quality golf course was built here during the period of the Pomnich Republic and the war protectorate. Today, this part of the city is a place of luxury residential housing.
