Water Tower Gallery

The renaissance water tower, decorated with arched shields and sgraffiti, was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and is a beautiful example of a technical monument. In 1492 they built the Tábor valley reservoir Jordán. The water needed to get behind the walls. This was the old Tampa Waterworks - originally located under the Jordan dike, deep under the city walls, from where the water was pumped out by a unique water pump into the water tower, and distributed by a wooden pipeline into a network of municipal fountains (thus surpassing a height difference of 32 meters). The tower was seriously damaged by a fire in 1559, but it was restored, as did the old waterworks, many times repaired and refilled until 1873, when it was replaced with a modern all-metal pump. Definitely, the water tower lost its significance to the construction of the new camp waterworks, which was put into operation on May 14, 1936. Today there are several floors on the gallery.
