Hostinec Bobas

After a long morning trek in the countryside wanted to grab a drink, to quench my thirst in the uncharacteristically hot weather, before catching the train from the neighbouring train station. All signs were proclaiming the establishment is working with cold draught beer and lemonade being served. Doors were invitingly opened. Went in and got immediately evicted because apparently it won't be opened for another half an hour or so. Won't be attempting a second visit as I'll be trekking elsewhere.

We had lunch twice at this place. The staff are very friendly and food was great on both occasions. Prices are quite low, as they serve lunch at a price below 100Kc even at the weekends. Also, the view of the narrow-gauge railway bridge is pleasant. I strongly recommend this place to any traveller.

We visited the place on 21.7.2020. The sign shows the opening hours from 11 a.m. We were here at 10:50 and obediently waited for it to open. Mj. maybe I would expect someone to climb out and ask or offer at least a drink at this time, but so be it. We met at 11 o'clock exactly. A gentleman climbed out and dryly announced that it didn't open until 12 o'clock, and quickly locked the door. NEVER to this restaurant again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! First of all, this type of would-be entrepreneur complains the most about EET and Covid 19 and draws all kinds of support. I would recommend Bobas to close it and calm down. The place is absolutely luxurious and attractive but unnecessary for this pub. Cyclists we met on the way to Landstejn had similar experiences. Mj. in the local restaurants he can treat customers and knows how they bring money from them, for example the Holubnik restaurant, the Lada Blato boarding house, etc. Bobas should learn there.
