Gypsy bar

Amazing evening at the Gypsy Bar on a Friday night. Got there at 8 pm and luckily grabbed two seats. The place was full and live music was just starting with a violin, bass, accordion and guitar playing traditional Czech, high energy tunes. Beer and food were good and super reasonable. Best night of our vacation. Owner was not soft and fuzzy, but certainly not rude. And we were charged 50 kr each for the music, but what a bargain!

So much anger here. We went in and sat at the bar. The owner looked at us angrily and shouted "50 Krone!" And then flounced off. He came storming back and we explained that we didn't understand what he was on about, (we thought maybe he had us mixed up with someone else, or the seat was reserved) and he told us then we should leave. Some Germans outside explained that the guy wanted us to tip the band, sadly that didn't come across as it looked like it would have been nice. Not sure what we did to make him so angry, but never mind!

In 2006 I spent a good few hours here and drank a good few hours worth of beer. Had a great time chatting with locals and enjoying the odd little rooms.

Crowded and staff were only interested in serving locals. Felt like we were in a strangers house and they. Didn't want us there.
