A beautiful place that, like the whole of Krumlov, is breathtaking! It definitely pays to turn off the main street, which is also full of beauty.

To the former building of the Jesuit hostel is closely adjoined the residence of church dignitaries - prelates. Originally it was executed in the Gothic style, but over time it was rebuilt in the tradition of neo-Renaissance. Today's street facade, painted in sograffito technique, is the result of this reconstruction. In 1769 the royal house was built in the courtyard of the prelature. Inside the building there is a festive hall with frescoes in rococo style made by master Frantisek Yakub Prokish in the second half of the 18th century. You can get into the inner courtyard in two ways - through the arched passages from the side of the Upper street or from the side of the church of St. Vitus. A fairly spacious yard by local standards, surrounded by white walls of the prelature, captivates with its tranquility and simplicity. In the arched niche of the western part of the courtyard with a human growth there is a cross, on both sides of which there are statues of two women on small pedestals. On the east side there is a staircase leading to the library. In the tourist season, when Cesky Krumlov turns into a tourist mecca, it is nice to hide in this yard and relax from the street scale, sitting on a small bench. Currently, the prelature halls are rented and various cultural events are held there.

In the past, the building served as the seat of Český Krumlov church dignitaries - prelates. It is originally Gothic and gradually modified. Today's street facade with sgraffito is the result of neo-renaissance adaptations from around 1900. A Rococo loggia built in 1769 is built into the courtyard of the prelature and a ceremonial hall with Rococo frescoes by František Jakub Prokyš from the second half of the 18th century is located inside the building. Currently, the prelature halls are used for rent and various cultural events are held here. Official text from the Pages of Český Krumlov
