The Baroque church originated from the reconstruction of the original Early Baroque chateau chapel from before 1660, located in the eastern wing of the chateau. This happened in 1794 under the Seldern family. After a fire in 1825 it was restored and at the end of the 19th century the original wooden tower was rebuilt into a brick.
