Hello, I would like to draw your attention to a thing that I do not like very much and which I believe may have fatal consequences. It is a newly opened bridge over the D1 motorway to its 74km near Hořice. The original bridge, which was demolished and replaced by the bridge just under construction, had two sidewalks and two sufficiently wide lanes. In the existing one, two (narrower) lanes are separated by crash barriers from the handling areas that replace the previous sidewalks. These handling areas can only be accessed by climbing the above crash barriers, ie with a stroller it is never possible !!!! Practically, this means that every pedestrian has to travel across the bridge on lanes without any possibility of dodging a passing vehicle (crash barrier). The journey across the bridge takes about 90 seconds. If a vehicle passes through the bridge at that time, pedestrians must avoid turning from their direction of travel, if two vehicles are facing each other, then the pedestrian side (or stroller) must stop completely. This can be quite problematic due to the speed at which the vehicles travel at that location. The bridge is used every day to cross the employees of ZOD Hořice, which is located in its close neighborhood and irregularly by all local residents, not only in daylight hours, but also early in the morning or after dark when a pedestrian can be seen - stopping the vehicle - can not even. I am convinced that the newly built bridge is built in direct contradiction to the principle that new roads should always be built in such a way as to increase road safety and smoothness and not vice versa as in this case. For the above reasons, I am asking for redress before the error mentioned above will result in some tragedy. Regards Ing.Martin Šuška.
