Památník Anny Politkovské

A memorial to a brave journalist who fought for the truth. It cost her her life.

In the city of Karlovy Vary, one of the central parks is named after the Anna Novaya Politkovskaya columnist for Novaya Gazeta. The initiator was the largest Czech non-governmental organization "Man in Need"; she is carrying out a campaign to perpetuate the memory of the dead civil activists and journalists who fought for human rights in the world. The renaming of the park is timed to the anniversary of the death of Politkovskaya on October 7, 2006.
