Obecní Úřad Pomezí nad Ohří

My review will not focus on the Municipal Office as such, but on the Border Guard Memorial, which you will find a few steps behind the office on the road No. 606 towards Germany. The monument stands on a clearing and consists of four objects: a central white painted block with a metal plate, a sculpture of a hand in an oath and the inscription We will remain faithful, in front of which lies a flat natural stone worked into a rectangular shape, with a white stone relief Border guards). It is complemented by two symmetrically placed stone obelisks with two memorial plaques. The original monument was erected before 1989. On the left is a plaque dedicated to Jan Novák, donated by the Czech Border Club in 2001, as the original, which was probably damaged. On the right is a plate dedicated to Václav Königsmark, which shows traces of damage under a new inscription.
