Hořice is located on the southern slope of Hořice chlum, which is often referred to as the last outcrop of the Giant Mountains. It forms a climatic divide between the fertile Elbe in the south and the rougher foothills in the north. Inside this chlum is hidden the main wealth of the region - quality sandstone, suitable for stonemasons and sculptors. The southern slopes are ideal for growing fruit trees and fertile land for grain, sugar beet and vegetables. For a tour of Masaryk's tower and lookout tower / 1926 - 1938 / Dachovy swimming pool, Gothard hill and sculptures on the slopes of Gothard hill, the nice square of George of Poděbrady with the neo-Gothic town hall / 1872 /, all this and many other monuments are worth a visit to this town.

The office building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Hořice. The office is located both in the neo-gothic town hall from 1872 and in the neo-renaissance town house from 1864, which also has a beautiful Art Nouveau hall.
