The Roman Catholic Dean's Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands on the border of náměstí Míru and Sloupská Street, where the parish office building is located. The church began to be built in 1786. It was consecrated in 1792. The Baroque church consists of a round nave and a semicircular presbytery, to which a pair of storey annexes adjoin. The semicircular presbytery is glazed with a plate, and at the end with a conch with lunettes. Classicist furnishings date back to the late 19th century. In the church there is a valuable facility consisting of the main altar, a pair of side altars, there is also a pulpit accessible from the sacristy and a stylistically unified bench for the faithful. The organ comes from the Prague Church of St. Charles Borromeo, abolished by Joseph II. On the sides of the main altar are statues of the Divine Heart of the Lord and the Virgin Mary. The statue of the Virgin Mary is the oldest protected monument in the city. The church tower is 60 meters high. There is an ancient, still functional bell from 1607. In the second half of the 20th century, the liturgical space was modified in the spirit of the reforms announced by the Second Vatican Council. The altar table is monumental and simple marble, in appearance not very different from a simple block. A cassette with the remains of saints is embedded in the altar table, a custom based on the tradition of the church (the custom is a reminder of the persecution of the early church, where services were held secretly in catacombs and coffins with martyrs' bodies served as altars). However, placing the remains in the altar is no longer the rule today. The church is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
