Since I had the opportunity to visit the monastery of Montserrat and see the original Black Madonna while in Spain, I was curious about one of its official copies - unfortunately the church is open only for worship, so I had to settle only for its exterior and we only saw the interior of space at the entrance. Maybe next time...

The Baroque Church of St Bartholomew and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built around 1638 by Flemish architect Bernard Canevall on the site of the original 14th-century wooden church. The church tower was raised to its present form in 1832.

The church was built around 1636 on the site of an older wooden church, unfortunately nothing of the original building has been preserved. It was also rebuilt in the early Baroque style between 1670 - 80 and in the 18th century in the late Baroque style. The tower was raised and modified in 1832. The furnishings in the church are mostly early Baroque with Rococo accessories. The local organ from 1628 (originating from the church in the village of Kruh u Doks) is one of the oldest in northern Bohemia and one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. In 1992, they were restored from financial donations from German compatriots.
