I recommend Pension Skalka especially to people who really like peace. It is located in a forest about 2 km from the town Doksy and there is nothing else. It is such a classic retro guest house with nice staff, but with old equipment. The rooms were relatively clean, the bathrooms as well. In some places the painting falls from the walls and in some places there are cobwebs, which were removed immediately upon our notice. The restaurant as such does not work here, only for ordered breakfast and dinner. So if you want to sit in the evening and have a few beers, the owner will make a beer for you, but not until nine in the evening, then it is closed. Because it doesn't have a spout, beer isn't much. He doesn't have much wine in stock. Breakfasts were excellent, great choice. It was worse with dinners, because he cooks such a Czech classic here - sauce, dumplings, meat. Not much for me as a vegetarian, but the carnivores liked it very much, although the portions could be bigger. Overall, I recommend the pension mainly to undemanding families with small children or pensioners.
