The deanery was established in Ceska Lipa (at that time Lipa) around 1200. The spiritual administrators for a long time had been settled here for a long time by the members of the local important family of Veitmil, from which was also a significant chronicler of the time of Charles IV, Beneš Krabice of Veitmile. After 1350 at the parish church of St. Peter and Paul had a school. The record of 1391 about the gift of the altar of St. Václav and Ludmila in the Czech chapel of the church and school on the south side of today's Škroupovo Square, where a new school was built in 1612. From 1406, the parish priest Kuník of the Weitmil family worked for the parishes, and for the singing pupils he received a small reward from the burghers.

The Cistercians of the town came to the then liturgical town of Lipý around 1253 at the invitation of the owners of the estate. In 1345, a Cistercian hospital from Hradiste nad Jizerou is documented here. During the Hussite wars in 1426 it was burnt down, it was restored in 1460. At the turn of the 80s and 90s of the 15th century, the Plasticians returned. During the 16th century, proboštství fell, in 1580 again burned down. Afterwards, it was rebuilt in 1582-85, the planned reconstruction behind Albrecht of Wallenstein overturned his murder. The presence of the plastic monks is not documented in the second half of the 17th century, the czech-polish provost remains in the titles of the abbots. In 1724 the building blew the lightning, the restoration was completed in 1730. The last major renovation took place in 1756 (coat of arms in the eastern shield of the building). After the abolition of the maternity monastery in 1786, the prostitution was bought and its property was owned by half of Česká Lípa, Count Michal Kounic. During the land reform of the building in 1922 he bought the town. In 1958 the site was repaired and became the seat of the local dean. The last correction took place in the 1990s.
