The first mention of the Lostice Jewish cemetery dates from 1554. It was in operation continuously until the war year of 1942, when the last burial took place. At the time of the founding of the cemetery in the Czech territory, King Ferdinand I ruled, in 1942 we had the president of the government in exile in London. It was Dr. Edvard Beneš. Just to frame the historical context. It is said that there were up to 6,000 graves in the cemetery. Today there are only a small fraction of the monuments to the dead. Mainly because there were practically none of the Jewish population left after the war.

I heard about this cemetery, but it wasn't until I was here that I found it huge
