I remember the time of complete devastation, without windows, leaky roofs and the interior completely looted, today the church looks completely different thanks to the citizens of the village, gradual repairs return its face. Thank you....

He tries to put him in a coup, the church puts his hands away from him, a small church owned by the village.

The first written mention of Starkoč dates back to 1352, when a fortress used to stand here as well as a parish church. The monumental Baroque building of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built on the site of the original church in 1738 by the Countess Josefa of Thun, born of Oettingen - Wallerstein. Since that time, the village dominates well visible by far. There is a sacristy on the north side. The main altar dates back to the beginning of the 18th century; The church underwent repairs in 1875 and 1936, at present the church is not used and it is very dilapidated. Around the church there is a graveyard lined with a fence wall, which has been buried since ancient times, not only from Starkoč, but also from the wide surroundings. Nine marble figural tombstones, from the second half of the 16th century, are inserted into the wall. and the beginning of the seventeenth century. It shows the family of Chotouchovsky from Nebovid - old owners of Starkoč. Interesting Facts: The inhabitants of Starkoč knew that one of the very valuable paintings of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, whose price would be several tens of millions of crowns, is located in the church. They have been trying to keep this information secret for many years. They realized that if they failed to take a rescue and free the picture, they would attract thieves. Fortunately, the records of the church were modified and the picture secretly reported and moved to St. Barbara's Church in Kutná Hora. He had a large rift that had devalued him, but he had been preserved by the restoration of two artists for several decades after the damage, unlike the original church records.

Beautiful church on a charming dominant site, which is visible from the surroundings. Unfortunately, the situation is not very good, but you can see work and efforts to save and reconstruction.
